The universe of Helldivers 2 has been rocked by an epic showdown on the infamous planet: Malevelon Creek.
Known for its brutal terrain and relentless enemy forces, Malevelon Creek has become more than just a battleground—it’s a symbol of sacrifice, resilience, and the unbreakable spirit of the Helldivers.
Helldivers 2 players find themselves on the back foot in the ongoing galactic war. Two planets have already succumbed to the relentless advance of the Meridia Singularity, and a third is on the brink of collapse. The Automatons, now bolstered by their fiery new Incineration Corps, have claimed precious ground, pushing the front lines ever closer to Super Earth’s heart.
Now, one of Helldivers’ most beloved worlds is under threat once again: Malevelon Creek. Veterans are rallying, returning to the site of one of the second galactic war’s most infamous conflicts. The echoes of past battles reverberate through its shadowy jungles, where countless Helldivers once fought and fell.

Back in the days of the first battle of Malevelon Creek, players had yet to establish scientific facilities or factories on conquered planets. Instead, choices were made based on personal preference—climate, environment, and sometimes just plain spite. Hellmire, for instance, remains a notorious favorite for its fire tornadoes. Meanwhile, Malevelon Creek earned the less-than-flattering nickname of “Robot Vietnam” due to its dense, oppressive jungles and brutal combat conditions.
A year ago, the Automatons were far more vicious than they are now. The Helldivers of that era lacked tools like the Portable Hellbomb and the versatile all-terrain vehicle. The Automatons boasted near-limitless vision, devastating lock-on targeting, and the ability to trap enemies in endless ragdoll animations. The Severin sector was a bloodbath—planets like Tibit, Durgen, Maia, and Draupnir bore the scars of brutal battles. While bugdivers enjoyed relative ease on the Terminid front, botdivers were caught in an unforgiving meat grinder.

Despite the odds, players embraced Arrowhead’s meta-narrative, doubling down on holding the Creek. This gamble paid off: victory earned them two commemorative capes, and for a year, Malevelon Creek remained a bastion of Helldiver resilience. In the lore of Helldivers 2, it holds the grim distinction of having the highest concentration of Helldiver corpses outside of Super Earth itself—a literal memorial to all the lives lost in the crucible of the previous Major Orders.

Now, the Automatons are closing in. While they’ve yet to breach Malevelon Creek itself, the current Major Order will last another five days, leaving plenty of time for their offensive to escalate. So far, Helldivers have held the line, securing victories in defense missions on planets like Pöpli IX and Ingmar. Some players are strategizing, drafting battle plans to ensure victory in the final stretch. Others are seizing the moment to meme, rallying their comrades with humor amidst the chaos.
